Though known for his work as an award-winning graphic designer and photographer, Maatla is more than just the pixel behind the visual identities for some brands you know.
Maatla is a creator of work that is simple, intriguing and aesthetically impressive; a strong art and design professional. He is an experienced Creative Director with a demonstrated history of working in the design industry.
He has worked alongside leading creative teams from love Life, Thumb tribe, Red bull, and Deloitte, producing concepts, designs and illustrations ranging from the memorable loveLife logo to brand campaign designs and publications for clients such as Nike, Asics, TBWA London, Nando’s, City of Tshwane, UNAIDS, International Aids Conference, Activate, Standard Bank, Power of 40 initiative, National Arts Council, and Old Mutual, to name a few.
Maatla was also named as the Graphic Designer of the year 2015 by Creative Nestlings and has showcased some of his work at the Apple Iphoneography Exhibition 2015, held in Johannesburg and Cape Town under the Category Absolut Africa. His work continues to be featured in various print and online publications such as Hype Magazine, The Guardian, Do Great Things by Old Mutual and he recently become part of the Nike Creative Hub team 2017 and joined the AFROPUNK Team in 2018.
